FP&OP (short for Flaxicom Purchase & Order Processing),
as the name indicates, automates the process of purchase order proceesing
system. The first step in the system is to send request for quotation
against a particular product to the suppliers. The quotations received
are then analysed and the best ones are put on the top of the list
on the basis of price, credit period and the ratings by the user.
The purchase order is placed against the best quotation and the
status of the material received against any P.O. is monitored.
FP&OP has some artificial intelligence (AI) incorporated into it as well.
It learns with the experience in that it remembers the information relative
to some key data and offers an automatic picking up of records the next time
user performs the same function.
The use of AI thus helps in exhilarating data entry and allows user to be
little careless.
The scope of FP&OP can be extended to monitor stock postion and production
planning as well.
